Implementing Change
Is our agricultural land being well managed to ensure food security for the future or is it being sold off to developers for urban development. Consider this once this land has gone there is no getting it back, and you may find yourself in a position of relying on other countries to supply your food and given food supply will become one of the biggest problems of the future due to population presures.Would it not make sense for our great leaders to ensure local food supply now and into the future.
Is the influence of large supermarket chains a good or bad thing for consumers long term. Are they using imports as leverage to drive down local prices and force some growers and local manufacturers out of business. Do offshore investors really care?
Are you happy with the way governments in general spend your money or do you have serious concerns. If all the wastage of taxpayer funds ceased our health system would be the best in the world, we would have sufficient prisons to house dangerous criminals, our roads & infrastructure would be of a high standard.
Apathy within the electorate allows our political leaders to be less accountable, and decisions to be made that have a long term impact on low/middle Australians.
Are you confident that your political leaders have everything under controI at a federal, state and local level.
Is our immigration policy correct given that the world population will increase significantly over the next 40 years. Should we be growing our population or looking for a sustainable model that does not rely on population growth for economic growth.
Politicians are predominantly influenced by professional lobby groups on behalf of big business, well organised lobby groups who have a vested interest in something, high profile people, private equity investors, venture capitalist investors, merchant bankers, wealthy business owners, media scrutiny, very important people, and well organised community groups. If you are not involved in one of the above then the chances are, that you have very little influence on government decisions except at election time, which is often too late.
The reality is that the majority of us will not be included in the above, many have busy schedules running families and working. The problem with that is that the majority view which is quite often the most sensible view is not being captured, and it will be you counting the cost of poor decision making in the future.
Why become involved
