Are many of todays political leaders out of touch with community views? do you sense a level of arrogance that is unhealthy? have things improved or got worse over the last 30 years? are our political leaders influenced by professional lobby groups and big business? do you sense that corruption exists within government? do governments think that we have an endless supply of funds for them to waste? what is a global financial crisis and why did it occur? Politicalfixit ask's you to take a step back in time and ask the question "have things really improved" we take a close look at the performance of our political leaders over the last 30 years to try and determine if we are tracking in the right direction, from an economic, social & environmental perspective.
Politicalfixit was created after experiencing the incompetance of various government departments, which clearly displayed to me that many in government are well paid, well spoken, well presented bumbling idiots. It clearly displayed to me that when you take the time to research your subject and stop listening to the retric, you start to expose major flaws within governments. Our current political system may be better than Iraq or various african states as many political leaders will often tell you but is as corrupt, inefficient as any in the world.

Just think about that for a moment a total of $34 million dollars would provide 100 additional nurses to the public health sector for around 8 years

Sarah Hanson Young the greens senator stated she suffered duress when they removed her baby from Parliment - what did she think they were going to do - EAT IT.
While many of the community are suffering true duress unable to feed their family, eroding income, loss of job, no shelter etc it is difficult to feel sympathy for the senator.
Having your baby removed in parliment is arguably stressfull, unfortunately this stunt backfired and got the general public offside with this young senator, who is obviously out of touch with comunity sentiment.

Many of our political leaders are out of touch because they have simply come from the wrong side of the social spectrum, which makes them incapable of undertsanding the issues faced by the community. There is a clear imbalance within our political system that is dangerously unhealthy and verges on arrogance. The solution is to support Independent Politcians who can restore balance to a political system that has gone horribly wrong.

Do you live in a safer environment? are social standards better or worse than years gone by? do you spend endless hours queing today, and wonder why you didn't have to queue in years gone by. Do you often wonder how banks managed without security screens and what has happened to good customer service, do you question where all that space has gone, why are roads narrower, why is land half the size, yet 25 times more expensive than in the 80's, where have those large community friendly companies gone, who provided traineeships with sports & social facilities. Have you often wondered how you coped without that stupid "Privacy Act", can you recall how it used to take several minutes to change personal information, but now takes hours, how come phone calls were answered quicker with less technology, how did you manage when retail shops closed at 12pm on Saturday and did not re-open until Monday and what did you do?
Can you recall in years gone by how governments received less revenue yet provided better services, and how police officers were primarily employed to fight crime, rather than collect revenue. Can you recall how legally binding contracts used to be on paper with a signature rather than answering a series of questions over the phone. Can you recall when real people used to answer the phone and government forms were 2 pages instead of 40 pages, can you recall when customers service was provided by people in Australia, can you recall when migrating to Australia was fair and not a money making venture for universities.
Isn't it interesting when you start to anlyse how many things have actually gone backwards - disposable income has been eroded, housing affordability is the worst it has ever been, prices are escalating more than ever before, There are too many academics in parliment, who have the ability to make the most simplest task complicated, todays governments employ too many spin doctors, governments receive more revenue & waste more money than ever before. It is more difficult today to organise an appointment with your local GP, dentist or to receive emergency treatment. Roads are more congested, mining & urban development is eroding our ability to feed ourselves, blocks of land are smaller, but more expensive, products are smaller but more expensive, houses are smaller but more expensive, you are spending less time with your kids, you are working longer hours, the price of food is escalating, food and fuel is controlled by investors, government services are costing more, bad language and obsene images enter your home without your permission, parenting is more difficult, we can no longer water our lawns, we have 4 million more people than we did in the 80's, we queue more than ever before, forest continue to be destroyed, Ice is melting, and we have serious environmental problems - THATS WHY THIS WEBSITE WAS CREATED.
